Assessment and Advice
These assessments can be used, to contribute towards evidence for the Education and Health Care Plan process (EHCP) for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
School based assessments provide an over view of where the pupil's achievements and areas of need are currently, within an educational setting and guide what will be necessary to support them in their next steps through education. A comprehensive report may be produced following the assessment and will include recommendations to support the pupil's development in their areas of strength and difficulty.

An assessment may include; an observation, staff and parent consultations, sharing of all relevant background information and where appropriate, formalised assessments, such as cognitive and learning assessments. There are occasions where these assessments can not be completed in school, other arrangements can be discussed.
